Highway Commissioner   « Back

The purpose of this position is to supervise and coordinate the activities of the Highway Department of Lincoln County.

This position:
Supervises the activities of the Highway Department and Department staff.
Prepares and administers Department budget; plans future construction projects and equipment purchases.
Maintains contacts with State, County, and local authorities and agencies, union officials, the general public, and others.
Performs various engineering work including field work, project design, specification development, and coordinating bidding.
Attends various seminars and workshops as required.Prepares Highway Committee agendas; attends committee meetings.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field or six to nine years civil engineering experience, including supervisory experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Salary for this position is $69,347.20. Eligibility for fringe benefit package.
