Geneology Research

We have Estate Indexes dating back to the mid 1800's in our office.  While the actual record may no longer be located here, we would have a record of it having been filed and be able to track its current location.  To look through the index of old cases, open the document titled OLD ESTATES INDEX below.

Many of the older files have recently been scanned into the Wisconsin Court System website (CCAP).  You can search for these electronic records in the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access website by inputting search criteria such as first and last name, county, and case number.

If you locate a record that you would like to view, you may do so at one of the Public Access Workstations at the courthouse.

If you request copies of a record through mail or e-mail, prepayment will be required. Copies of a record are $1 per page, and there is $4 per case search fee if we have to locate the record for you.

Estate records dated prior to 1932 may not be available in our office, as they would have been transferred to the State Historical Society at Stevens Point prior to being scanned into CCAP.
