Request for Public Records

In light of recent court decisions regarding the Drivers Privacy Protection Act and its effect on public records, we may not be able to provide un-redacted reports.  All reports are reviewed prior to being released, and some confidential information on the report may be redacted (blacked out).  The requester will be notified of redactions and denials.

Procedure for obtaining records.

• Make your request orally or in writing.
• Send form to Lincoln County Sheriff's Office 1104 East 1st St. Merrill, WI 54452
• Please allow 7 to 10 working days for a reply.

Cost: $.15 per page, $5.00 per CD or Disk, a location fee will be charged if set by the law or if the actual cost of locating the record is $50.00 or more. The actual cost of any transcription, photographic work, or postage will be charged. This will be billed with the returned request.
