Disability compensation is a monetary benefit paid to veterans who are disabled by injury or disease incurred or aggravated during active military service.

Eligibility - Wisconsin Benefits
To qualify for most Wisconsin state veterans' benefits, programs, or services, a veteran must first establish general eligibility for Wisconsin state veterans' benefits.
Health Care Benefits - Federal
*Hospital, outpatient medical, dental, pharmacy and prosthetic services
*Domiciliary, nursing home, and community-based residential care
*Sexual trauma counseling
*Specialized health care for women veterans
*Health and rehabilitation programs for homeless veterans
*Readjustment counseling
*Alcohol and drug dependency treatment
*Medical evaluation for military service exposure, including Gulf War, Agent Orange, radiation, or other environmental hazards

Military Funeral Honors Program
The Military Funeral Honors Program (MFHP) in Wisconsin provides a final tribute to the men and women who served our state and nation honorably as members of the U.S. armed forces. It allows a grateful nation to pay its last respects in a dignified and solemn ceremony.
Pension - Federal
Veterans with low incomes who are permanently and totally disabled, or are age 65 and older, may be eligible for monetary support.
State Veterans Cemeteries
Veterans, their spouses and dependent children may be buried at state veterans cemeteries operated by Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA).
Troops to Teachers (TTT) - Federal/State Partnership
The Troops to Teachers (TTT) program provides information, referral services and funding that assists veterans, reservists, and military personnel nearing the end of their careers pursue teaching as a second career.
Wartime Service
Certain VA benefits require wartime service. Under the law, VA recognizes these war periods.
Wisconsin Veterans Homes
Veterans and their spouses may receive long term care services at King, Wisconsin (Waupaca County) or near Union Grove, Wisconsin (Racine County), or Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin (Chippewa County)
