Jury Information

Every resident of the county served by a circuit court who is at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, and is able to understand the English Language is qualified to serve as a juror in that court unless he or she has been convicted of a felony and has not had his or her civil rights restored. The most important qualities of a juror are fairness and impartiality. A juror must lay aside bias and prejudice. A juror is the foundation of our judicial system, and his or her actions and decisions should reflect this important role.

Selection

Jurors are randomly selected from the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT), Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) driver's license and identification lists. It is important to keep your address with the DMV current to ensure that a juror summons and questionnaire reaches you.

Questionnaire

If you are in receipt of a juror qualification questionnaire, please return the questionnaire on or before the designated date by mail or in person. If submitting your questionnaire via the internet, this link will be helpful: https://juror.wicourts.gov/juror-qualification-questionnaire/search  *Tip: You will need your juror ID number and birth date.

Summons

If summonsed as juror, you will be designated a month and provided with a list of potential trial dates. You will be asked to use a voice mail recording system that will provide you with the trial status and date and time to report and further instruction. If your juror identification number is within the range of numbers selected, you are to report for jury duty on the designated date. The juror hotline number for Lincoln County is (715) 536-0337. You may also check your reporting status online at http://juror.wicourts.gov/juror-status/search

Excusal(s) or Postponement of Juror Service
