Winter Survival Kit
Everyone should carry a Winter Survival Kit in their vehicle. In an emergency, it could save your life and the lives of your passengers. Here are some items to include:
- Shovel, windshield scraper and small broom
- Flashlight with extra batteries
- Water and small packages of food that you can eat hot or cold
- Extra hats, socks, mittens, blankets and sleeping bags
- First aid kit with pocket knife
- Road salt, sand, or cat litter for traction
- Tow chain/rope and booster cables
- Necessary medications
- Battery powered radio
- Matches and small candles
- Cell phone adapter (plug into lighter)
- Emergency flares and reflectors
- Fluorescent distress flag and whistle to attract attention
