Otter Lake Campground

 

Otter Lake Campground and Recreation Area is located 12 miles SE of Tomahawk on Otter Lake Road. There are 25 primitive campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis. A hand pump for potable water and pit toilets are available in the campground. 

Camping fee is $20.00 per night with self registration on site. 

Firewood is available but you must bring your own saw.

Year round camping is allowed.

A swimming beach, picnic area, grills, boat landing, nature trail, water pump and pit toilets are located at the south end of Otter Lake and are available for day use. 

Otter Lake is approximately 34 acres in size.  Panfish are common with largemouth bass and northern pike present.  No motors of any kind are allowed on Otter Lake.

Sanitary dump stations available for campers:

  1. Merrill Wastewater Treatment Plant, 2606 Sturdevant St., Merrill.  $5 fee. 
  2. Council Grounds State Park  *** Council Grounds dump station will be closed periodically throughout the summer. To dump at Council Grounds, a state park sticker is required plus a $10.00 fee. ***
  3. City of Tomahawk Municipal Garage,  415 W. Spirit Ave., Tomahawk.  West side of building $10 fee. (seasonal)
  4. R-Store Gas Station, N357 Brandenburg Ave, Merrill.  $7 with fuel purchase, $8.50 without. (seasonal)
