OVERVIEW

This position is to provide technical assistance related to geographic information system data maintenance and development, as well as general land information activities. This includes creating, compiling and maintaining data necessary for the implementation and support of the County’s geographic information system, and Land Information Plan. All duties and responsibilities are performed under the direction and guidance of the Land Information Program Manager.  This is a grant funded position and is dependent on the ongoing financial support of grant resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • This person will have direct input on the development, design and maintenance of the County's GIS datasets, geodatabases, SDE environment and related applications developed on top of ESRI’s ArcGIS.
    • Assists with data collection, attributing and editing of spatial data including data cleanup, data organization and map creation using ESRI’s ArcGIS software.
    • Assists in updating of parcel data using ESRI’s ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro and COGO data entry (coordinate geometry).
    • Assists in the administration of the rural address ordinance and maintenance of the data including municipal data sets not covered by the ordinance.
    • Perform QA/QC of project deliverable data for Orthoimagery, LiDAR, Parcels or other contracts.
    • Should have strong cartographic skills using ESRI’s ArcGIS Pro for creation of products for presentation both digitally and in hard copy format.
    • Familiarity with ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online.
    • Works with the County Surveyor maintaining the Public Land Survey System remonumentation records stored in GIS format. 
    • Provides land related information and assistance to the general public.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

Bachelor’s or Associate degree from a 4-year College or technical college in geography, geographic information systems, surveying, civil engineering, and/or a natural resources field preferred. Experience with the full suite of ESRI ArcGIS software, GPS equipment and CAD software is highly desirable.

WAGE:
Starting wage for this position is $24.01. Eligibility for Lincoln County benefit package including; health, dental, life, LTD, vision, vacation, sick leave, holiday pay and Wisconsin Retirement System.
