History: Lincoln County formed a Broadband Committee to gather data for determining optimal fiber optic cable routing, accessing grant monies to assist with that process, and attracting ISPs to partner with the county on making high speed broadband accessible throughout the county. The committee is made up of 5 Lincoln County Board Supervisors, the Lincoln County Administrative Coordinator, representatives from Lincoln County IT and Land Services (GIS) departments, and members-at-large representing townships/municipalities, economic development, schools, businesses, and other special interests groups within Lincoln County.

  • Make sure that you are connected to the internet through your wired or WIFI connection and not using cellular data when running speed tests.

Why your internet speed tests are important: We need actual internet speeds -- not the speeds that the internet companies claim to provide -- to identify gaps, assess and prioritize areas for broadband projects, and gauge progress.

Stay up to date on broadband progress in Lincoln County: Lincoln County Economic Development Corporation has created a Broadband Commission with the goal to provide all residents access to reliable, affordable, high speed internet services. The Commission is collaborating with community members and several internet service providers to accomplish this goal.
