Public Land Survey System Data
Beginning in 1851 and concluding in 1865, 14 US Deputy Surveyors surveyed all of Lincoln County and placed wood posts at approximately 1/2 mile intervals to control the location of the boundary lines and legal description of every parcel of real estate.

This Public Land Survey System (PLSS) is also perpetuated by the private surveying firms as they are required by Statute to document their work on land boundary surveys and subdivisions, in the County Surveyors Office. All these records are filed geographically and made available to the public through regular office hours 8:00 - 4:30.
Plat of Surveys
Survey Plats are surveys that were done on larger parcels or retracement surveys. Survey plats are filed with the County Surveyor and not recorded with the Register of Deeds. They can be searched using the link above.

Fieldwork has started in T31N R8E and will work North to T35N R8E, then move to T31N R7E and work North.
