How to Apply

All parents paying and receiving child support automatically receive financial management services.

Child support agencies can provide full case management services to parents (both the parent paying as well as the parent receiving) and legal guardians if they apply for them. There is no fee to apply for case management services.

  • Financial Management services refer to the actions required to enter the obligation on the Wisconsin child support computer system and facilitate receipt and disbursement of the payment.

  • Case Management services refer to the location of absent parents, establishment of legal parentage, preparing of legal documents to schedule cases for court, ensuring child support and health insurance obligations are set, using all tools available to collect support owed, reviewing orders, ending orders.

In many cases, if a parent is absent from the home in which a child receives public assistance, a referral is automatically made to the Child Support Agency.
