Prairie Dells Scenic Area

This unique area is located approximately 6.5 miles north of Merrill or 4.5 miles south of Gleason off Hwy 17 on Prairie Dells Road.

Local residents and tourists have enjoyed this site when the "Old Dam" was in existence and return now to view the natural features that have been exposed.

Features of the Prairie Dells Scenic Area include, but are not limited to, a very beautiful river gorge with large boulders and a variety of picturesque rock outcroppings, which appear along the riverbanks. Also, a variety of wildlife can be viewed and enjoyed while visiting the dells.

Three viewing platforms have been constructed, one of which is handicap accessible.
