Inmate Property, Mail, and Telephones
Property
No property will be accepted for inmates of the Lincoln County Jail at the Lobby window.
Property will only be released to friends and family if the inmate has filled out a “Property Release Form” and submitted it to correctional staff in the nightly bin. In order for persons to pick up an inmates property they must have a valid photo ID.

The inmates first and last name must be clearly indicated on the front of the envelope.
The sender's first and last name must be in the return section of the envelope along with their complete address. Any mail received not meeting these requirements will be returned to the sender or placed in the inmates property until their release.
Inmates are able to receive letters, money orders, and simple cards. (No glitter, stickers, tape, ties, or other embellishments) Personal checks will not be accepted. All correspondence must be sent through the US Postal Service. No items will be accepted at the Lobby window.
Magazines, books, Polaroid pictures, pictures containing nudity of any kind, stamps, blank or lined paper, envelopes, food, hygiene, and clothing will not be accepted. They will be returned to the sender. Books, magazines, or other periodicals approved by the jail will be distributed and available to inmate via the jail's inmate reading cart. Persons wishing to add such a publication to those approved by the jail may contact the Jail Administrator or his/her designee.
All mail is subject to inspection excluding mail from a legitimate attorney or judge and marked as legal or confidential. Any mail or item deemed inappropriate, threatening, or seen as a safety or security issue will be denied.
Telephones
Inmates are not allowed incoming calls and messages will not be passed by Correctional Staff.
Inmates will have access to a telephone to make outgoing calls once they have completed the booking process.
