OWI Offenses

OWI related Offenses: As of July 1, 2010 any individual convicted of an OWI must by state statute have an Ignition Interlock Device (IID) installed. This applies to any vehicles registered or titled in that person’s name or any vehicle that they operate.

You must do one of the fallowing within 14 days of your sentencing date: 

  • Have an IID installed in any vehicle registered or titled in your name or in any vehicle you operate.
  • Have all vehicle titles and registrations transferred out of your name.
  • Have an exception granted to you by the sentencing Judge as part of your JOC.
  • Have all vehicles titled to or registered to you, listed as a “junk” vehicle by the Wisconsin
  • Department of Transportation.

Failure to provide proof that you have done one of the above mentioned will prevent you from exercising Huber Privileges while incarcerated in the Lincoln County Jail.

If an AODA Assessment is ordered at sentencing, you must have it completed before you report to Lincoln County Jail and you must provide the jail with a copy of your “Drivers Safety Plan.” If you have not completed your AODA Assessment you will not be allowed to use your Huber privileges except for the sole purpose of completing your AODA Assessment.
